Hot Rod Harley Davidson
Hot Rod Harley Davidson is a motorcycle shop in Muskegon, MI. Located at 149 Shoreline Dr.
Their phone number is 231-722-0000. Hot Rod Harley was a great addition to the downtown Muskegon area,
the location is perfect right on Shoreline Dr. a.k.a. Bus 31. The dealership is a huge 2 level
building, with a service department downstairs, and a huge merchandise and showcase room upstairs.
The bikes are spread nicely through the upper level, with the biggest concentration of their best
and brightest Motorcycles located near the north outer wall which has a great view out over Muskegon Lake.
I had the honor of buying my first new motorcycle at Hot Rod Harley-Davidson in August of 2008. It was
to be my first scoot, I had friends that rode and had always rode trail bikes when I was younger. I had
taken a few short rides on some friend’s street bikes and decided I wanted something sportier than a
bagger, or full size Touring Bike, but also something with a full size engine, and big enough for my
wife to ride on comfortably. Walking in there for the first time was slightly intimidating to me as I
didn’t know really anything except I KNEW I wanted a Harley.
I started looking around and I was really liking the Dynas, I ended up striking up a conversation with
Kyle Heller who turned out to be the sales manager and he agreed that the Dyna family was looking right
for me and I had a few options. Like I said it was August 2008 at this point so they did have some new
09 models on the floor. I particularly remember this one 2009 Dyna Lowrider that was pretty sick, but
it was gonna run me like $3,000 more than what I did end up purchasing. After a few days of thinking
I went back and spoke with Kyle again. I had him price me out the door and we came to an agreement
that I believe was very fair and I was on my way. I bought a 2008 Dyna Street Bob. It had the six s
peed 96 Cubic Inch V-Twin, and a really good black to chrome contrast.
I dealt with Nikki Haver for the financing, both her and Kyle where very knowledgeable and easy to deal
with, and I couldn’t have been happier about the service I received. Kyle rolled my new Dyna out to the
lot and gave me the rundown and I was off and running. I signed up immediately for the riders edge course,
there at Hot Rod as I wanted to soak up as much knowledge as I could for what would come to be my obsession.
I had my TIP already so they got me on the right track, and I really do feel like it was the right move.
I feel like what I learned there probably kept me alive for those first few thousand miles, and was an
excellent foundation for becoming a safe rider.
I of course have gotten my scheduled maintenance done at Hot Rod’s and have on many occasions dealt with
Jerry Snyder Jr. He’s a cool guy and he knows his stuff, their service techs there are professional and
fast, and have always been able to solve my problems. I would highly recommend Hot Rod Harley-Davidson
to anyone looking to purchase a Motorcycle in Muskegon or the state of Michigan. Much respect.
